WHAT DOES THE $499 INCLUDE?
Your Newborn Session Includes:
A creative planning session with me to discuss wardrobe and color themes and props for your newborn photos. We will design a few poses around a place in your home to hang a wall portrait or display your new photographs to enjoy them daily.
Your expertly guided professional photo shoot with safe poses for your precious newborn. Both family and mom and baby/dad and baby images will be created.
2-3 hour session with plenty of time for breaks and feedings so we can get baby asleep and content.
Image reveal session where you see your images at the studio & select your favorites after your photo shoot. Additional individual images start at $200 and packages start at $1050.

WHEN IS THE RIGHT TIME TO BOOK MY NEWBORN SESSION?
For newborns, since the arrival of your baby is typically unpredictable, I will reserve space on my calendar around the time of your due date to accommodate early or late arrivals. Please contact me as soon as baby arrives in order to schedule a date and time within 5-9 days of birth if possible if we need to adjust from our original date. After 10 days, babies become more alert, causing them to startle much easier. They also discover the joys of stretching (which means they are harder to pose!). The sweet spot is between 5 and 7 days to get those adorable curly, sleepy newborns.
Newborn sessions last anywhere from 2-4 hours. We will take our time and never rush! Don’t worry if baby is fussy - they are not used to being handled, posed and moved so much, and it may take a while for them to settle down. We will take plenty of breaks for feeding and snuggling.
Please know that baby will pee and poo during the session- it is not a matter of if, but when! Don’t worry if baby has an accident on the blankets and props (or me!) as it is totally expected. All of my props are washed after each session.
Some of the images of your baby will be taken without clothing (unless otherwise requested). To keep baby warm I have a space heater and I keep the studio to a very warm (think 80-85 degrees!) during the session. Wearing light clothing or layers is recommended so you don’t get too warm.
Along with keeping newborns warm, having a full belly is the key to making sure they stay sleepy. You may need to feed your baby more frequently than normal during the session to keep them asleep.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE SESSION
Being in a photoshoot after having a baby may seem daunting. Your first instinct may be “the baby only, not me”, but I promise you will not regret it! I will position you so that you look your best and that we capture the special bond between you and your baby. If you are going to show off one image of you and your newborn, it will undoubtedly be the one taken by a professional! Simple clothing is best, without distracting patterns and black is great for classic black and white photos.
